Hello Everyone,

Time flies, doesn't it?  All of a sudden, the San Diego school year is over...and what an amazing, transformative, and just plain fun year it was.  Of all the years since our inception, I think that this one went by the fastest.

Despite the recent economic struggles, McElroy Tutoring has still managed to grow intelligently as a business--streamlining our client services, adding dozens more expert tutors, vastly improving our user-friendly website, and expanding our reach to 15 new American cities.  It has been so fulfilling for me to realize that with every passing year, we have been able to help even more students, across even more parts of the country, to achieve their academic, test-prep and college admission goals.  Thanks to our increasingly wide selection of expert & affordable tutors, we are quickly becoming one of the best-recognized names in the private education business.

In addition, in response to an increased demand for more affordable test-prep options (in particular, the SAT, ACT, ISEE & SAT Subject Tests), we've stepped up the classroom offerings at our headquarters on Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach.  There, we offer group courses for 4-8 students all year round.  I am also happy to say that I will be "returning to my roots" (my first professional tutoring experience was working as a Princeton Review SAT classroom instructor in Providence, Rhode Island, after my graduation from Harvard in 2002) by teaching my own series of SAT & ACT Prep Courses, starting this August, in preparation for the September 12th ACT, the October 10th SAT, and the October PSAT.

For a limited time, I am offering these SAT & ACT classes (25 hours of class time + 4 proctored practice tests on Saturdays) for only $750 per student, which is significantly more affordable than many "brand name" prep courses (Princeton Review, Kaplan, Ivy West, etc.) that are primarily taught by inexperienced and under-trained instructors.  My group courses will provide your student with the opportunity to learn from a true SAT & ACT Prep expert  (I have over a decade of test prep experience), not just some recent college grad with good scores.

THE TOP 5 SIGNS THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE CHOSEN BRIAN MCELROY'S SAT or ACT PREP CLASS, BUT DIDN'T:

    * You lose interest because the class moves too slowly, or the material feels repetitive.
    * The strategies seem obvious or simplistic.
    * The practice questions don't challenge you, or don't seem realistic.
    * Your scores improve at first, but start to plateau quickly.
    * Your teacher has trouble answering all of your questions, or there are so many students in the class that you can't get enough one-on-one attention.

As for me, I'm happy to say that my summer vacation is already underway.  I plan to spend the remainder of July traveling, visiting my friends and family, and attending my sister's wedding in Rhode Island.  To all current McElroy students: I hope that you enjoy the upcoming "down time" with your friends and family, but don't forget that the summer months also provide a great opportunity to get a head start on vocabulary building, test preparation and college admission essays.  Our office staff will be available all summer long (9 am - 2 pm PST) to help answer any questions you may have, or to help you schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation with any of our tutors or consultants.

On August 1st, I will be returning to San Diego to resume my private lessons, classroom courses, and college consultations, in preparation for the fall round of SATs and ACTs, the ISEE & PSAT, and college application deadlines during the 2009-10 school year.  Please feel free to contact me directly by phone or email (see my contact information below) for more details.

Have a great summer, everybody!

Yours,
Brian
